Ski Clinic
What is Ski Clinic?
Ski Clinic will help you conquer the mountain with confidence and prevent injuries. Our expert physiotherapist’s are here to help you whether you are a beginner or a pro skier!
What happens during an appointment?
Your Ski Clinic appointment will involve an individualised assessment by a specialist Physiotherapist, focusing on your ski history and goals, as well as any previous injuries. The gym-based testing will look at key muscle groups required for skiing so that a bespoke injury prevention plan can be put in place.
Our niche on site gym has the facilities to put you through your paces. Typically, the assessment will include but not be limited to:
- Assessing your 1 Rep Max of various muscle groups
- Assess your lower limb dynamic control (imagine gliding down those slopes!)
- Lower limb balance and proprioception screening
- Testing of landing mechanics
- Review option of CTi Knee Brace for stability – see more here.
The aim is to develop a bespoke injury prevention programme based on the assessment findings.
Can snowboarders attend?
Of course and not just snowboarders, even dog sledders, snow-kiters and ice skaters!
Is Ski Clinic for me?
What do I need to wear?
Loose clothing which are flexible enough to allow dynamic movements. Depending on whether you are carrying an injury, wearing shorts may be more convenient.
How much is an appointment?
The assessment is £75 for a 45 minute appointment. This includes your bespoke exercise plan tailored to your assessment findings.
Will I need any follow ups?
You may require a follow up to go through any prescribed exercises, mainly to ensure your form is correct and allows scope for any modifications if needed. Furthermore, should you opt to have a CTi3 Knee Brace fitted, this will be done as a follow up appointment. More information regarding our Knee Bracing service can be found here.
