Emma graduated in 2013 gaining an honours degree in Physiotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University. She has gained extensive experience working in Brighton and London teaching hospitals and bespoke private practice settings. Emma commenced her Masters Level Postgraduate training at Brunel University in 2021 in Advanced Clinical Practice (Pelvic Health Pathway), which has further enhanced her skills in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction. She is a member of the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Emma currently works in the NHS as the Clinical Lead for the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Team. In her NHS job, she works as part of the Multidisciplinary Team of Obstetric, Urology, Uro-gynaecology and Colorectal Consultants and Nurse Specialists, assessing and treating patients with complex conditions.
Emma specialises in treating both male and female patients with pelvic floor issues including bladder problems, bowel issues, prolapse, pelvic pain, perineal tears and sexual dysfunction. She also enjoys treating musculoskeletal dysfunctions that can occur during and following pregnancy including pelvic girdle pain, lower back pain and diastasis rectus abdominis .
Her treatments include a mixture of advice and education, manual therapy, pilates and physical rehabilitation. Emma also has a keen interest in the use of ultrasound to further assess and guide patients with their rehabilitation.
Recently, Emma presented at the International Continence Society Conference in Vienna, educating clinicians on the conservative management of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.
Outside of the clinic Emma enjoys sea swimming, running and pilates.
